Rodney: So I am Rodney with Reachd and we are here at Pubcon 2007 in Vegas and we just setting on a key note address by Richard Rosenblatt from Demand media and I wish to talking about how it is really a search world like every thing is driven by Google and just one out of few, just talk a little bit more about that and let some of the viewers here what you had to say?
Richard Rosenblatt: Sure, well I am in, I think what I try to focus on the key note is most people today start with Google and they expect to find their information through Google. So Google has millions of results on every single topic. So if you can figure out a way getting in first page of Google results, I would argue you should be every result on the first page, you are not getting any traffic. So you need to recognize that if users are going to find you through search you better be there. It is that simple, it is not that easy to execute, but it is that simple to remember.
Rodney: And you said some thing, I think correct me if I am wrong, but some thing like, if you are not concerned about Google, then you are not concerned about growing your business?
Richard Rosenblatt: Absolutely, and when I say concerned not the Google’s going to do anything in the various to hurt your business, but they are going to get smarter. They are going to understand content better and lets you of the right content for what some one is looking for, you will not be found.
Rodney: You talked a little bit about some other things you were involved in with eHow and expert village and Channel me TV, like in which one of those you are most excited about or could talk to us about a little bit?
Richard Rosenblatt: I think it’s a need about the Demand medias. We are very broad company, right. We have 50 different web properties that generate 50 million visitors and we are very niche focused. So eHow is the leading how to website. Right very excited about that for people looking for information had about everything. Expert village right now is the leading “how to video” website. Two different audiences, two different types of content. Channel Me is a really great product to allow any small business for $25.00 a year to get a great domain name and build out the entire website and literally seven minutes. That why we are here to talk about, we are here with the norm, second largest registrar in the world offering social media tools to small businesses. All I have to do is go to Channel Me.TV.
Rodney: So small business owner registers a domain pays $25 a year and they could have basically their own TV channel, their own website on the net?
Richard Rosenblatt: Every thing in fact they have all the tools that are on my space because the code that built it was built on my spaces code. So for literally $25 I can build out a full media website, full social network, video, tags, blogs every thing and it is easier to do by the way. They don’t have to be a techie at all, anybody can do this.
Rodney: So Richard said to take seven minutes, we have heard from iJustine, it actually takes five.
Richard Rosenblatt: That’s because she is smarter than IM. It actually took me 10, but it will take the average person 7.
Rodney: So may be you could do in four, may be you could do it in three. We will see but ….
Richard Rosenblatt: It’s quicker than waiting in line for a cup of coffee at start bucks. You could build your entire website.
Rodney: Cool for 25 bucks.
Richard Rosenblatt: For 25 bucks...
Rodney: Ok, I got to go now, I got to go now. I got to get work on my website, so Yeah.
Richard Rosenblatt: Alright, alright, I need more copy.
Rodney: Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.
